• Unplug the compactor from the electrical outlet and wait 60 seconds, then plug back in to reset the control board
• Verify the compactor drawer is fully closed and seated properly until it clicks into place
• Open the compactor drawer and inspect the trash load - remove excess waste if overfilled and ensure load is level
• Check inside the compactor bin for any visible debris, metal objects, or foreign items blocking the ram or tracks
• Remove any items that may be preventing the drawer from closing completely
• Verify the compactor is receiving proper electrical power by checking if other appliances on the circuit are working
• Allow the compactor to cool for 10-15 minutes before attempting to restart if the motor protection may have overheated
• Do not attempt to force the drawer open if it is stuck - contact service instead
